They will attend a German language course and a three month work placement in a local company. “I think that a work placement abroad is an important chance to get to know other cultures and to enrich my knowledge base” says Samuela Egidi from Ancona. As a graduated interpreter and translator it is important for her to match theory and practice in order to improve her specific language skills. For the future she hopes to increase her job perspectives on the European Labour Market.

The stay in Freiburg is professionally accompanied by an employee from BBQ. She organizes and accompanies the language course and helps the young women in getting used to German life. A variety of options are offered in relation to cultural and leisure activities as well as individual coaching and opportunities to get new contacts. The feeling of home sickness could be countered be getting involved in social activities. “Home sickness” says Samuela, “no, for that it is still way too early. First we will focus on completing the German language course and to use the opportunities this project offers”. After the course she will start her work placement in the tourist information office in Staufen. No doubts she will be able to use her knowledge about German history and culture.
